Transfer Orientation

The Transfer orientation takes place in two parts. The first part is an online registration tutorial which takes place during three separate windows throughout the summer months. Depending on when you sign-up for orientation will determine which summer tutorial you are placed in. The priority deadline is May 1 so make sure you complete your registration before then. This online course will prepare you for class registration and get you familiar with how to navigate the online technologies at Humboldt State. There are 2 holds associated with this course; the first hold is lifted upon completion of the course and the second is lifted once you have spoken with your summer adviser.

Online Registration Tutorial Dates:

  • May 29 - June 7
  • June 17 - June 21
  • August 5 - August 9

The second part is an on campus program taking place on Friday August 23. You will get the chance to meet with faculty, tour campus, connect with other students, and learn about how Humboldt State can best support you in your time here.

Steps to class registration:

Step 1:   Send in your missing items. You'll need to have missing items in your To Do List sent to HSU Admissions, including  official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended showing grades for all completed coursework. Submit your items by the March 1 priority deadline to be considered for the earliest possible class registration dates!

Step 2:   Accept your admission to Humboldt State and pay your Enrollment Deposit by May 1.

Step 3:   Sign up for Orientation. Orientation sign-up opens March 1 to eligible students. You can only sign up if you've accepted admission, turned in your missing items, and had your admission status confirmed through an application review by a Transfer Admissions Counselor. This review often takes 4-6 weeks after HSU has received all your missing items. We'll email you when you're eligible to sign up for Orientation.

Step 4:   Complete the online registration tutorial. Instructions will be emailed to you shortly before your tutorial opens.

Step 5:   Speak with your faculty advisor.

Step 6:   Register for classes!
