Public Hearings on Impaction
Updated Admissions Criteria
Cal Poly Humboldt will be holding public hearings on a proposed plan to remove the impaction status of the Wildlife program starting in Fall 2022.
Currently, the Wildlife program is designated as "impacted" because it had previously received more qualified applicants than available seats, making entrance to the program a selective and competitive process. Under impaction status, supplemental admission criteria may be used and students who meet the minimum California State University (CSU) requirements are not guaranteed admission.
Removing impaction at the program level will make admission more accessible for all incoming freshmen and transfer students applying to this program.
At these meetings, participants will be able to hear directly from the Humboldt Director of Admissions about admissions criteria, ask questions, and share feedback. All comments will be considered and shared with university leadership as Humboldt decides how to best serve students from the local area, throughout California, and beyond.
Proposed Guidelines
Cal Poly Humboldt will remove impaction criteria at a program level for Wildlife starting in Fall 2022.
