Freshman Orientation

The freshman orientation program at Humboldt State is a 3 day all inclusive experience where you will be exposed to every aspect of Humboldt life. You will learn what it means to be a successful student academically. You will learn what it means to be an HSU Lumberjack. You’ll be exposed to students from around the world and you’ll make new friends every day! Our orientation program is designed to welcome you and make you feel truly at home. We are so excited to share our wonderful campus community with you and can’t wait to see you in August!

Here's a sneak peek of one of our events!

Orientation Preparation

The signup is now closed. Please email nac520@humboldt.edu for questions or concerns

  • Carefully review the deadlines outlined in myHumboldt. Pay close attention since these deadlines affect your ability to enroll at HSU.
  • Orientation activities will begin the night of housing move-in on Tuesday, August 15th and will continue through Friday, August 18th
  • Take the CSU English Placement Test and/or Entry Level Math Exam at the HSU Testing Center. See www.ets.org/csu for more info about these exams. Failure to take these exams as noted in your Dates & Deadlines sheet from the Office of Admissions will prevent you from registering for classes.
